Amandi is a family farm in Grases, Villaviciosa, growing slowly, at the pace of its trees and its land.
The project
From a family farm to a productive forest
In Grases, Villaviciosa, we plant and care for organic Hass avocados in an Atlantic setting. Rain, ground cover and biodiversity are central to the way we farm.
Every harvest teaches us something new. The farm has grown tree by tree, through family work and the aim of offering honest fruit, hand-picked and sent without shortcuts.
The name Amandi comes from the family who owned the farm before us and cared for it and helped it grow over many years. We kept it to honour their work and the history of this place. Amandi comes from the Latin name Amandus and means “worthy of love”.
Biodiversity
Small ecosystems coming back to life
Growing avocados is only part of what we do on the farm. We also create small ecosystems: corners where life can settle in and stay. The more life there is around the trees, the healthier the soil and the less we need to intervene.
One example: we are creating a small natural pond. No pumps or liners, just rainwater, stone and bankside plants. Within months, dragonflies, frogs and all sorts of insects and small creatures we had not seen here for a long time have started to return.
Every box that leaves Amandi helps these spaces keep growing.
